Transport

By plane:

Asturias Airport is located in Santiago del Monte, in the municipal district of Castrillón, 45 km. from Oviedo and 40 km. from Gijón. There are regular flights to Madrid, Barcelona, La Coruña, Tenerife, Palma de Mallorca, Málaga and Alicante. There are also flights to London and Paris. Regular flights are connected with a coach service to the cities of Oviedo and Gijón.


By train:

There are train stations in Oviedo, Gijón, Avilés and other Asturian rural towns. More information on routes, services, fares, etc. available on the RENFE and FEVE websites or see telephones listed below. Bus and Taxi services available from each station.


By coach or bus:

There are several coach operators which link Asturias with other Spanish and foreign cities. City buses and Taxi services available from bus stations.


By car:

Principal routes connecting Asturias with Spain:

  • From Madrid: take the toll motorway AP-66 (Autovía de la Plata), or through the A-road N-630.
  • From Cantabria or País Vasco: take the motorway A-8 (Autovía del Cantábrico), or the A-road N-634.
  • From Galicia: via the motorway A-8 (Autovía del Cantábrico), or the A-road N-632.
