Presentation

The aim of the Higher Vocational Training is to provide students a quality artistic education, in order to enable them to appreciate the importance of plastic arts as a means of artistic language and cultural expression, and also to develop their artistic abilities, becoming aware of the professional fulfillment possibilities that all this implies.

These teachings ensure students’ professional qualification, according to the degrees on Plastic Arts and Design in the respective professional fields, and they also enable them to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for resolving all problems arising in the development of their professional activity, by adapting to the evolution of the technical processes and artistic conceptions.

The Higher Vocational Training last for two academic courses, plus an internship period in companies and a Final Project.

Photography

imgfoto.jpgThese studies, as well as other studies where there’s an artistic quality to them, aim not only at training well-prepared professional photographers, but also professionals sensitive enough to be able to interpret esthetic issues. The point being made is that Photography isn’t just about learning a technique inherent to it, which would ensure on the other hand a quality in the results, but also about having a proper degree of cultural and theoretical preparation which would result into the production of more interesting results.

imgilustracion.jpgThese studies are focused on offering the students a complete overview both into conceptual, technical and artistic aspects related to the profession. The contents of these studies aim professionally at the editorial field, journalistic infography, advertising, comic or the newest multimedia products.

A whole range of creative possibilities regarding the newest technologies is provided as well as the necessary background and education towards a more classic artistic sensibility in a way that the student can perform into the new horizons of graphic communication.

Print Design

imggrafica.jpgThese studies are oriented to preparing graphic designers professionally specialized into the field of advertising. In order to achieve this goal, all the graphic resources, as well as the technology and the theoretical background, are provided so that an immediate insertion in the labor market is ensured. Be as it may as a creative in an advertising company, in a graphic design studio or as a freelancer.

The competencies of a graphic designer will consist of the creation of visual communication products whereby the most usual means of expression are used, i.e., audiovisuals, photography, illustration, digital image, etc which will perfectly fit into the notions of marketing and graphic design from the conception of the idea until the final product.

Sculpture Applied to Performance

imgespectaculo.jpgIt is located in the artistic sector related to the carrying out of assemblies of ornamentation, setting the scene and characterization by means of sculptural techniques that can be used in any type of show, among others, in the theater, television, film, advertising, fairs and exhibitions, festive and entertaining and in other sectors of industrial and constructive production.

The labor demand of these professionals is oriented in the following sections:

  • The realization of three dimensional objects for theatre and opera scenography, cinema and television, amusement and theme parks, assembly and fair installations, socio-cultural activities, playgrounds and nurseries and other areas related to the entertainment world.
  • Realization of structures, corporeal objects used on stage with artistic and ornamental significance, theatrical sculpture, architectural and relief elements.
  • Props for cinema, theater, and other ephemeral media of artistic expression.

imgedicion.jpgThese studies aim at developing professional editors capable of managing graphic and bibliophilic pieces of art. Whilst exercising their professional role, graduates will manage and mediate between the market demand and the diversity of artistic professionals at their disposal, i.e, artists, carving professionals, bookbinders, illustrators, photographers, etc.

Graduates will also exercise a general artistic insight and knowledge of the crafting skills required by the diversity of professionals within the field, as well as a general knowledge of the market structure.

A professional in these studies will be ready to meet the labor market needs in terms of designing stands, exhibit structures, modular constructions, show rooms, etc. The competencies a professional in these studies will display are to enable him to not only investigate and coordinate into creative processes as well as shapes and materials within his field, but also to coordinate and manage the production of such pieces of design himself/herself. As a consequence of all mentioned before, he or she performs, labor marketwise, either as an independent contractor or within a company's work team.

imgamueblamiento.jpgThese studies are focused on training professionals specialized in projecting pieces of decorative furniture and the conditioning of interior spaces such as kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, business premises, etc.

Professionally-wise, it will lay under the graduated student role to actively participate into the projecting process, alongside arquitects and engineers. He or she will be, on the other hand, in charge of managing and coordinating both the technical and the professional positions the project demands for its realization. All of those chores can be carried out independently as an outside contractor or as an employee for a studio or an indipendent business.

Culturally-wise, as a consequence of a society in evolution, the number of artists willing to find a way of plimggrabado.jpgastic expression through the printing systems and engraving techniques is greater every passing day and so it is the demand for original graphic pieces.

Bearing all that in mind, these studies gather both facts and offers accordingly a suitable education whereby the creative capacity is empowered. A command of the technical requirements (traditional and state-of-the-art) and the conceptual insight is provided so that a career in any of the fields, concerning the original graphic art, is ensured (i.e, carrying out of the personal graphic work, printing artistic work for an artist, counseling artistic galleries and museums, performing specific tasks within the graphic arts field, etc)
